Our new website is now up and running and will feature news from 2024.
We had a great season in 2023, with our AGM held at Kenwyn in March, followed by a superb organ recital by our member Nick Wearne, followed by three further meetings.
In May we met on a beautiful day in Creed, near Grampound, featuring an organ recital by Gabrielle Lewis, followed by tea and an interesting talk by Jeffrey Williams to follow.
The July meeting was held on a wet day in St Tudy, and included a superb organ recital by Nicholas Danks, tea and a concert of Classical guitar music by Tom Neale and father.
On a warm day in September, we met at Cubert for the President’s meeting, where we were introduced to the organ, including its wonderful blowing handle (to use as an optional alternative to the electric blower) which some of us tried out. After tea we enjoyed an organ recital by Chris Godolphin, who also introduced us to the instrument before tea.
Sadly the November meeting was cancelled at short notice, due to the member who was organising it being indisposed at the time. This meeting may be rearranged to the current year’s programme – watch this space! We look forward to our programme for 2024, with the AGM and recital in March and a visit to St Martin’s church, Liskeard in May, when we hope to be joined by members of the Plymouth & District Organists’ Association. Visits to Veryan, Egloshayle and All Saints’ Church, Falmouth are scheduled later in the year. See the Events page for details.
