Join us for our meeting this afternoon at 3 o’clock in Lanlivery Church. There will be a recital by Samantha Rowe (flute and voice), followed by the usual business meeting and tea. After tea there will be an organ recital by Michael Todd. We look forward to hearing both recitalists.

Services each month at Boconnoc presently consist of a BCP ‘first Sunday’ 9.30am Eucharist and a ‘third Sunday’ 11.00am Matins, for both of which an amateur organist has been endeavouring to provide cover (in addition to playing other services at other Lostwithiel churches on the same and other days) since the enforced retirement in January of the previous professional organist due to ill health. The opportunity to be able to hand over even the ‘third Sunday’ 11.00am Matins (though preferably the ‘first Sunday’ 9.30am Eucharist also) to someone who might well enjoy to play a perfectly pleasant two-manual Hele organ for a small but very appreciative congregation, in a delightful and picturesque setting in the middle of the Boconnoc estate (with more than a few paid weddings in addition a further option if he or she so chose), would be a huge benefit to a grateful congregation as well as a huge relief to the present amateur organist and a very satisfying experience for the right new contender.
Many thanks to those who attended the recent funeral of our member Barry Higgins, either at Callington Methodist Church or at Glyn Valley Crematorium. He will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
